Aqualung

Aqualung is here to meet all your music listening needs. With this application installed on your PC you will be able to listen to audio tracks stored on your hard disk, play audio CDs, listen to podcasts, and listen to online radio streams. You’ll be able to do this for free, from the application’s user friendly interface that provides support for skins.

Aqualung is available for multiple platforms: Windows, Mac OS X, andGNU/Linux. It must be mentioned here that the application was originally meant for the Linux operating system. It must also be mentioned that the setup wizard that helps you install Aqualung on a Windows-powered machine will ask you to choose between a Full, Compact, Minimal, and Custom installation. The Full installation includes the following: core files, desktop icon, Start menu shortcut, LADSPA plugins, additional languages.

The application’s interface is made up of two windows: a Music Store window that can be hidden out of sight and a main Aqualung window. As mentioned at the top, Aqualung provides support for skins. Right click on the main Aqualung window, select the Skins Choose option, and you will be presented with several skins: dark, default, metal, ocean, plain, and woody.

Aqualung puts the emphasis on music playback. It plays MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, and many other audio files you have. It also plays audio CDs and online radio streams. You can set it so a song is repeated over and over, you can create and manage playlists, you can view album art, you can search for a particular track, and more.
